Making disciple makers
“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28 :18-20)
Spiritual growth and maturity
“28 Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.” (Colossians 1:28)
The name describes their purpose and function – growth – spiritual growth for individuals in the group, and numerical growth as we invited people who don’t know Jesus to find out more in a non-threatening, friendly community. Our prayer is that everyone who joins a group would eventually find God for themselves and grow to become mature disciples who can also make disciples and fulfill the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20
